Does working with Medcora cost me anything?
+
No. Brokers are paid by insurance carriers, and the commission is the same no matter which plan you pick, so our only incentive is finding the plan that actually fits you. Your premium is identical whether you enroll through us or directly.
Which insurance companies do you work with?
+
We're an independent brokerage, which means we compare plans from all the major national and regional carriers in your area rather than pushing one company's products.
Which states do you serve?
+
We're licensed in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, and Texas (NPN 19622983), and we work with you entirely by phone and video. Same guidance wherever you live in those six states, big city or small town.
When can I enroll or switch plans?
+
Most people first enroll around their 65th birthday (a 7-month window). After that: Annual Enrollment (Oct 15 to Dec 7) lets anyone switch for the new year; Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment (Jan 1 to Mar 31) gives current Advantage members one change; Special Enrollment Periods can open year-round after events like moving, losing employer coverage, or qualifying for Extra Help; and if a 5-star plan is offered in your area, you can switch to it almost any time of year. Call us and we'll confirm your exact window. See all five windows explained.
What happens after I enroll?
+
We stay your advocate year-round: claims questions, coverage issues, and an annual review to make sure your plan still fits as prices and formularies change.
Who answers when I call?
+
Your licensed broker. If they can't pick up within a few seconds, Cora, our AI Medicare assistant, answers instead, 24/7. Cora talks like a person, can answer Medicare questions, and briefs your broker immediately so you always get a human follow-up. Plan recommendations only ever come from your licensed broker.
What is the Cora Engine?
+
Cora is our AI-powered matching engine. It checks every available plan against your exact doctors, prescriptions, and pharmacy in real time, so recommendations are based on data, not guesswork. Your licensed broker always makes the final recommendation.
